Confidential shredding questions
How much does confidential waste collection cost?
A one-off collection costs £45 for up to 2 sacks, £55 for up to 5, £65 for up to 10 and £85 for up to 20. Regular collection plans start from £33 a month, and dropping off at our Ferndown office starts from £25.
Which areas do you cover?
Collection is free across the BH postcode area, including Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ferndown and Ringwood. We also collect across the rest of Dorset and into Hampshire and Wiltshire, up to 40 miles from Ferndown, for a distance fee.
Do you collect from homes as well as businesses?
Yes. Households and home offices can book a one-off collection with no contract. Businesses can choose a one-off collection or a regular plan.
What happens to my paperwork after you collect it?
It is shredded so it cannot be read or put back together, and the shredded paper is recycled. You then receive a certificate of destruction.
What counts as a sack?
One shopping carrier bag, one large black bag or one A4 paper box each count as one sack. You can fill your own bags and boxes, or ask for free sacks when you book.
How do I get my certificate of destruction?
A certificate is issued after every collection and emailed to you and saved in your online account, where you can download it at any time. If you need a printed duplicate posted to you, that costs £10.
How soon can you collect?
Next-day slots are often available, and one-off collections are normally made within 48 hours. Choose a preferred date when you book and we confirm it by email.
Is there a contract?
Not for one-off collections. Regular plans run for 3, 6 or 12 months, and the longer the plan, the lower the monthly price.
Do I need to remove staples and paper clips?
No. Put documents in as they are.
Is there a charge for collection?
Not in our free zone around Bournemouth, Poole and Ferndown. Further out there is a distance fee of £20, £35 or £55, shown as soon as you enter your postcode. Dropping off at our Ferndown office costs less than a collection, and beyond 40 miles it is the only option.
How does drop-off work?
Buy a pass online. Each pass covers up to 2 sacks and comes with its own QR code, so 6 sacks means 3 passes. At our Ferndown office, scan a QR code at the secure drop-off point, put your sacks through the unlocked door and close it. We collect from the drop-off point twice a day and send your certificate of destruction the same day.
